This alphabet picture book shows images of the Atlantic coast, from New England to Atlantic Canada. The text alliterates, naming a number of the objects related to the atlantic coast that are depicted in the paintings. Readers are challenged to find many more relevant items for each letter of the alphabet. A detailed description of each painting, explaining its setting and relationship to the culture and history of the region, is included at the back of the book. Furthermore, a list of the locations of each of the illustrations is provided. Author Donna Grassby is from Nova Scotia, and illustrator Susan Tooke lives in Halifax.
